Letter, March 29, 1864.

Letter to Admiral David D. Porter sent from "off Hurricane Plantation", asking if there is a 2nd and 3rd assistant on board, is he required to act as Watch Officer over the machinery. States it is not "clearly understood by many officers" and he is "submitting it to you for discision." Two forwarding notes on back.
