Letters from Sir Charles Edward Trevelyan, with related material. 1873-1886.

Comprises: (1) 5 autograph letters from Sir Charles Trevelyan, including 4 to Jabez Hogg dated 29 July 1878-23 July 1880 and 1 to Mr Warren dated 10 July 1880 (all with transcripts), and a printed 'Thank you' card from Trevelyan to Mr and Mrs Jabez Hogg; (2) 4 autograph letters from Sir Charles Trevelyan to Sir Sydney Hedley Waterlow dated 20 October-17 November 1873 (all with transcripts), 1 small portrait photograph of Trevelyan taken by Fradelle & Marshall of Regent Street, 1 obituary on him extracted from the press for 19 June 1886, 1 printed announcement of his death extracted from The Times for 21 June 1886, and 1 compliments card signed by him in 1876. Both bound volumes include a biography of Trevelyan which is very similar to that contained in the Dictionary of National Biography.
