Comprises 2 autograph letters from Johann Nepomuk Hummel, the first to C.W. Woflynbaum dated 9 December 1823, the second to an unidentified recipient dated 7 May 1836, and a printed portrait of 'J.N. Hummel' engraved by Steindr. v. A. Kneisel, Leipzig. The bound volume includes a biography of Hummel which is much briefer than that contained in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians.
