Latham, includes battle of Winchester and Strasburg. June 7, 1862 letter from Col. Samuel Carroll re: prisoners and report that Jackson's train is waiting for the river to go down. Two copies of an 11 page report, 1862, to Colonel Schriver re: the escape of Jackson and the Union forces' futile pursuit of him under Fremont. A letter, Oct. 26, 1862 from "Tom" at the headquarters of the Irish Brigade discusses the Irish in the war and Shields who is "the only real match for 'Stonewall'".
