Consisting of 17 letters, 1951-1968, from South Carolina poet laureate Archibald Rutledge to Viola Goode Liddell, together with editorial notations by Liddell's son, Will Lithgow Liddell, Jr., and inscribed photograph of Archibald Rutledge portrait. Includes copies of Liddell's published books, With a Southern Accent (1948), A Place of Springs (1982), and Grass widow : Making My Way in Depression Alabama (2004); manuscript volume, unpublished novel, "Will O' the Wind," 1976; and manuscript volume, 2003, "The Collected Works of Viola Jefferson Goode Liddell 1901-1998," compiled by Will Lithgow Liddell, Jr., and Ruth Howe Liddell.
