Copy negative taken for April 29, 1962, Arkansas Gazette article "Travel Note on a 41-year-old Trip," E5:2. In 1921 Andrew (1890-1967) and Louise (1893-1977) Waldo, and their children Warner and Helen, of North Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, took a trip from Arkansas to California in their Paige touring car. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Butler and their two daughters. The cars were fitted with material to make tents for camping. After thirty-three days of traveling on poorly marked highways with almost no pavement, the two families reached Los Angeles. After a stay of three weeks, they headed back to Arkansas. They were joined on the return by Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sharp, Henry Sharp, and Lyde Sharp, who also traveled in a Paige touring car The Waldos shared their photographs and story with Ernie Deane.
