Missionary Correspondence and Papers 1907-1960; 1930-1950 [microform].

The records contain correspondence, manuscripts, and the occasional autobiography written by missionaries. They are divided first into area (Box 1 Highlands, Boxes 2 and 3 Finschhafen). They are further divided in these two areas by missionary name and arranged alphabetically. The Finschhafen records have one small section with files containing multiple names. It is not apparent why this set was not separated into individual files in the same manner as the rest. If a file contained only one document and it is titled, the title is included in the file folder name. If a folder name contains no title, the documents were either untitled (including correspondence), or there were multiple titles. Dates in brackets indicate that there are also documents in the file that are undated. The final two boxes contain mimeographed circular letters titled "A Message from Your Missionary" (1946-1954) and "Missionary Mail" (1955-1959). Although the letters themselves were titled "Missionary Mail," they were published as a group under the name "Letters from Your Missionaries." These two boxes are arranged chronologically.

The ALC met as a delegate body biennially in October, the time and place of which was determined by the president and Board of Trustees. All boards and standing committees sent their reports to the president at least sixty days before the convention, so that he could have them printed and sent to the delegates twenty days before the biennial meeting.
