Daniel Burr account book, 1784-1812.

Record kept by a Westport, Connecticut, farmer and possible justice of the peace. Burr sold cider, tallow, wool, flax, beef, candles, timber (particularly ship timber), and he also charged for attending court. There are several entries in which he charged for his wife making a gown. The volume was used after 1828 by Enoch Fitch Burr, Daniel's grandson, for drawing and painting, for lessons, and for writing memoranda that may be related to his interest in science. The back portion of the volume was used as a scrapbook.
