Schools ephemera. 1837-1998.

Collection comprises material produced by Connecticut public and private, primary and secondary schools, as well as schools of music, dance, elocution, etc. Includes programs (graduation, class day, exhibitions, anniversaries, music presentations, etc.), report cards, examination sheets and booklets, promotional materials, descriptive booklets, announcements, invitations, and rules. Among the report cards are seven for L.G. Welles, signed by Gideon Welles, from Hartford Public High School. Schools include the Cheshire Academy (Cheshire, Conn.), Gilbert School (Winsted, Conn.), Connecticut Literary Institution (later Suffield Academy, Suffield, Conn.), Hopkins Grammar School (New Haven, Conn.), Miss Porter's School (Farmington, Conn.), American School for the Deaf (Hartford, Conn.), Collins Street Classical School (Hartford, Conn.), Hartford Female Seminary, Miss Draper's Seminary (Hartford, Conn.), Nursery and Kindergarten for the Blind (Hartford, Conn.), Oxford Academy (Oxford, Conn.), McLean Seminary (Simsbury, Conn.), and the State Trade Education Shop (Bridgeport, Conn.), as well as public schools. All schools are arranged alphabetically by town.
