Stanley Leonard Knazak joined Ford Motor Company in 1909 as a clerk for William S. Knudsen in Buffalo, New York. In 1914, he was transferred to Dearborn, Michigan to work in the Sociological Department; two years later he entered Henry Ford Trade School as a tool apprentice. After Knazak graduated in 1919, he taught at the trade school until 1922. From 1922 until his retirement in 1953, Knazak was a machinist at the Rouge River plant.
