Contains a brief memoir covering Peirce's employment prior to the war, induction, training, and overseas stations. Describes his instruction in aircraft maintenance and his assignment, to Hobbs, NM, to head a maintenance team working on B-17 Bombers. Also describes his transfer to Okinawa as part of the Engineer's Battalion, his duties there, and the severe weather (typhoons) encountered there. Includes a map of his travels throughout the war. Contains his discharge papers and photocopied newspaper articles citing his unit's movements and achievements. Photographs show Peirce in full military dress, with his wife, with his jeep, and with his technical crews. Also shown are scenic shots of Okinawa, military cemeteries, wreckage left from a passing typhoon, and Japanese prisoners of war.

Peirce served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1946. He was assigned to the Engineering Corps as an aircraft maintenance officer, and achieved the rank of captain.
