Hope (Brig) logbook, 1804-1805.

The logbook of the brig Hope details shipping voyages from Salem, Mass., to Livorno (Leghorn), Italy, and Havana, Cuba, Martinique, and La Guaira, Venezuela, Dec. 1804-Dec. 1805. The brig's home port was Salem; the owners were John Norris and possibly Peter Lander; the master was Thomas Tate; the logbook keeper was John Felt. During its voyage, the Hope spoke the ships Argo (out of Salem), Concordia, and Fame; the privateer New Providence; and the schooners Phoenix and Sally, both out of Baltimore.
