Minerva (Ship) logbook, 1803.

The logbook of the ship Minerva details a shipping voyage from Calcutta to Salem, Mass., May-Sept. 1803. The ship's home port was Salem; the owner was William Gage Jr.; the master was Thomas Beckford; the logbook keeper was J.H. Gage. The logbook includes references to animals seen during the voyage; damage to the ship; and the ship's equipment and supplies, specifically its provisions.
