The Allen Sapp Score Collection contains manuscript and holograph scores of works composed by Allen Sapp. The collection also contains some of Sapp's drafts, outlines, and twelve-tone row forms and matrices; as well as exercises, analysis, and arrangements of other composer's works completed while at Harvard University.

Composer and arts administrator Allen Sapp was born in Philadelphia in 1922. He studied with Walter Piston at Harvard University, and privately with Nadia Boulanger and Aaron Copland. Sapp taught at Harvard University (1950-58) and Wellesley College (1958-1961), then became chair of the Music Department at the State University of New York at Buffalo (1961-1975), where he co-founded the Center for Creative and Performing Arts.
