In a letter, 1851 June 18, an unidentified member of the company informs Silliman that they will not be re-engraving his portrait. A copy of the current one has been sent him in care of Mr. Ripley. Silliman has drafted a reply stating that a publication of the current engraving is unacceptable to his family. In a letter, 1890 May 28, William W. Appleton does not object to Boyesen making arrangements with an English publisher for a reprint of a book.
