Theodosius Forrest, a lawyer, was an amateur artist, songwriter and poet, and a friend of Hogarth and Garrick. He wrote the well-known "The Roast Beef of Old England". David Garrick was raised in Lichfield, England, and became a leading actor, playwright and theatrical producer in London. From 1747 to 1776, he was a partner in the Drury Lane Theatre.
