Letters of William O. Stoddard, 1862, 1896, 1915.

In a brief note to Henry C. Whitney, 1862 March 7, Stoddard says he will do what he can to forward his views. In a letter to E.S. Goodhue, 1896 September 11, Stoddard accepts membership in the [Hawaii] Kodak club and asks if the honor is due to his interest in the islands he has had since he read Melville as a boy. In a letter, 1915 November 29, he notifies William F. Clarke that he has sent a manuscript to the St. Nicholas magazine.

William Eagle Clarke was born on 16 March 1853 in Leeds. He was educated at Leeds Grammar School and Yorkshire College.
