Manuscript and printed items, including autograph album (1854-1865, 1878 and 1881), of Elizabeth Halfacre, of Newberry, S.C.; manuscript volume, undated, of Dr. John Thompson Norris, containing medicinal recipes and treatments; 19th-century scrapbook containing "Subjects of the Serial on N[atural] History Museum of the College of Charleston" and other clippings, chiefly of religious interest. Letter, 9 July 1871, from Flora Keith [Overman], Oak Grove, Anderson County, S.C., re the illness of her grandmother; obituaries of Elizabeth Halfacre Norris; photograph of First Lieutenant W.C. Norris, Orr's Regiment of Rifles, S.C. Volunteers; copy photographs of John T. Norris and Elizabeth Halfacre Norris taken by W.H. Wiseman, Newberry, S.C. Also including printed advertising circulars for "Indestructible labels for fruit trees, flowering shurbs, roses, etc." listing dozens of varieties of peaches, cherries, roses, etc. from B.K. Bliss of Springfield, Mass., and for "universal pain alleviator" illustrated with a woman in an alchemist's lab; and Dr. O. Phelps Brown's Shakespearian Annual Almanac, 1877 edition which featured quotes and illustrations from the Tempest; also includes paper doll drawn and colored to resemble a porcelain "China doll" of the era.
