Hook family papers, 1797-1862.

The Hook Family papers contain letters and household accounts of members of the Hook family, including cabinetmaker William Hook of Salem, Mass., and his children Eliza, and Elias and George Greenleaf, organ builders in Boston, Mass. Most of the letters concern the daily life of family members. Letters in folder 3 concern sales and delivery of furniture made by William Hook. Letters in folders 4 and 5 are by or to Elias and George Greenleaf Hook, and concern organs made by them in the firm that eventually became Hook & Hastings. Also included in the collection are children's copybooks and a few furniture designs.
