Record group 91-143 consists of the divisional correspondence of the Executive Divsion of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, for the years 1979-1980 (bulk of material dates 1980). Contains the correspondence files of Director Howard A. Tanner, his executive staff and divisional directors. Includes memoranda, policy statements, and minutes from various commissions and advisory committees. In addition to the major divisions (e.g. Environmental Enforcement, Parks, and Lands), the files document the Natural Resources Commission, Recreation Advisory Committee, Toxic Substances Control Commission, the Resources Recovery Commission, Great Lakes Basin Commission, and the International Joint Commission (regulation of the Great Lakes).
