Series 2 of record group 86-8 consists of the orders of the Michigan Natural Resources Commission for the years 1940-1972. The orders are regarding fish and game laws, which set limits of the number of fish a citizen may catch or the kind of game that may be hunted. The laws also stipulate the seasons during which fishing and hunting are permitted for each fish or game species. Some orders apply only to limited areas, such as a particular lake or county. Some later orders rescind earlier ones which were no longer appropriate to the ecological balance of an area.
