The postcards depict scenes in Alexandria, Annapolis, Appomattox, Arlington, Charlottesville, Giles County, Hampton, Hopewell, Monticello, Rockbridge County, Newport News, Richmond, Skyline Drive, Staunton, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg and Winchester. The collection also contains a postcard containing the poem "In old Virginia" with a scene of Natural Bridge; and a postcard folder entitled "Greetings from the Happy South," ca. 1911, depicting stereotyped scenes of happy African-Americans picking cotton, relaxing at cabin doors, singing and fiddling, some with racist captions.
