Contains a memoir outlining Jacob's military experiences. Describes his training in a tank destroyer combat unit. Discusses his transfer to the U.S. Army Air Corps, qualification as a bomber pilot, and subsequent reassignment to an infantry unit because of a pilot surplus. Records his contact with the LDS church during training and in his theater of combat. While in his infantry division, Jacob signed up to be a truck driver and spent the remainder of the war in Service Companies. Provides details of his duties as a truck driver, delivering supplies to the front lines, while in Bastogne and Germany. Of note is Jacob's account of meeting the first Russian units in the heart of Germany. Photograph shows Jacob driving his truck in military dress.
