Legislative Files, 1959-1975.

The Legislative files are arranged chronologically and then by the Senate or House numbers, the house or Senate Joint or Concurrent Resolution numbers, or the General Legislation numbers. The series contains correspondence with other Senators or House members regarding legislation, newsclippings, and copies of the bill or resolution. This series also contains an index to McGee's legislative activities traced through the "Congressional Record" from 1967-1976. Some specific legislation includes the Supreme Court justice nomination of Clement Haynsworth, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fort Laramie National Monument, land conservation files, and files related to university extensions and other education-related files.
