Arthur C. Blunt letter to J. Palgrave Simpson, 1885 Oct. 9.

Arthur Blunt writes to Palgrave, 9 Oct. 1885, on Court Theatre letterhead, forwarding a translation of a "popular German piece," inviting an opinion on the piece's potential for the English stage. He asks that no one else reads the piece, and also forwards two brace of partridges, part of a gift he had received.

John Palgrave Simpson (b. June 13, 1807, Norwich, England-d. 1887), Victorian playwright. He wrote more than fifty pieces in a variety of genres, including dramas, comedies, operas, and spectacles, between 1850 and 1885.
