Arnold Bennett letter and manuscript, 1929-1931.

The collection consists of two items, a hand-written manuscript and a typed letter. The manuscript, 31 May 1929, is a dense two-page essay on German literature, praising Wasserman, Lewisohn, and Remarque. The letter, to playwright Patrick Hamilton, 29 Jan. 1931, expresses regret that Bennett was unable to see Hamilton's play, as he had been out of town and then ill during its run.
