The Transportation Photograph Collection is an ongoing collection of historical photographs depicting various modes of transportation in the Pacific Northwest region and western United States from the mid-19th through the mid-20th century. Most of the pictures were taken by unknown photographers but some were photographed by Asahel Curtis. Included are images of automobiles and roads; aviation (with an emphasis on the Boeing Airplane Company); and railroads, such as the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad Company (also known as the Milwaukee Road), Northern Pacific Railway, and Great Northern Railway. The collection also features images of water-based transportation.
