Carol McEldowney was an activist for human rights issues and in the antiwar movement of the 1960s and early 1970s in Cleveland and in Boston. She was a member of Students for a Democratic Society, and a community organizer for the Economic Research and Action Project in Cleveland working with welfare mothers.
