The Myron Atkinson Papers date from 1969-1976. The bulk of the material deals with Atkinson's legislative duties on the Judicial "A" and "C" Committees in 1975-76. Also included are his legislative notes on the 1973 and 1975 sessions. Correspondence, notes, and related materials dealing with Atkinson's legislative career from 1969 to 1976 are also included.

Myron Atkinson was born on September 22, 1927, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was educated at Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck Junior College in 1947. He also attended the University of North Dakota, and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce. He participated in Alpha Tau Omega, Kappa Kappa Psi, and band.
