In 1881, the courses taught at the Orange School building, located 1 1/2 miles west of Arvilla, North Dakota, were writing, reading, arithmetic, and geography. The following year, the one room schoolhouse was moved to Arvilla where it remained until being destroyed by fire in 1902. In 1903, a new schoolhouse was built for the sum of $3,769 and was large enough to accommodate 3 teachers.
