This collection contains the working and research papers used by George Billingsley, Earl Spamer and Dove Menkes in the creation the book Quest for the pillars of gold. The first part of the collection contains correspondence with editors and research archives. The final part of the collection contains research and collected articles concerning the long history of mining in the Grand Canyon National Park. Series seven contains the completed manuscript. Important here are the descriptions of the illustrations to the book. Not all of the illustrations intended for the book were published. The photographs have been removed and placed into the George Billingsley photograph collection.
