Pittman was educated at Smith College (A.B., 1921) and Johns Hopkins University (M.D., 1927). She was a member of the Dept. of Zoology at Smith College, 1921-1923. Pittman was a physican in private practice in Boston, Mass., 1931-1966; on the staff of the Massachusetts General Hospital, 1931-1965; on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School, 1946-1959; consulting physician at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmay, 1938-1959.
