Negative taken for March 8, 1960, Arkansas Gazette article "U. S. Gets Deed to Pea Ridge," B1:4. On Monday, March 7, 1960, in the historic Elkhorn Tavern, Governor Orval Faubus handed the deed to the military park at Pea Ridge, Benton County, Arkansas, to Conrad L. Wirth, director of the National Park Service. The park is now named Pea Ridge National Military Park. Carl Brown of Harrison, Boone County, with Neill Bohlinger of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. The ceremony was held at the Pea Ridge gymnasium in Benton County, Arkansas.
