Dudley S. Ingraham papers, 1849-1984.

The Dudley S. Ingraham Papers, along with the Edward Ingraham Papers and the E. Ingraham Company Records, form a basic source of the history of clockmaking in the United States. Additional information on special topics such as labor unions and tariffs and, to a lesser extent, the history of Bristol, Connecticut is also present in the collection. Mr. Ingraham's correspondence forms the largest portion of the collection. A limited genealogical chart is included in the paper copy of the finding aid.

Dudley Seymour Ingraham was the great-grandson of Elias Ingraham, founder of the E. Ingraham Company, a manufacturer of clocks and watches. Dudley Ingraham joined the family company and eventually became President, serving in that position until 1956. He was the last family member to hold the position of company president.
