The genealogies trace the direct descent of sisters Emily Marshall (Otis) Eliot and Mary Alleyne (Otis) Stevens from Mayflower passengers William Brewster, Isaac Allerton, Francis Cooke, William Bradford, Richard Warren, Edward Dotey; and from early immigrant Robert Cushman. The memoir concerns the family of Josiah Marshall of Boston, Mass. Genealogical charts trace the ancestry of Harrison Gray Otis and wife Sally Foster; and the ancestry of Rebecca Angelica (Morison) Henry.
