Contains a personal memoir that outlines his military service, transfers, and command posts. Includes a resume of military experience, a catalog of aircraft he was qualified to operate (28 in total), and biographical information of his commanding officers. Also includes a short history of his time as a pilot and operations officer in the 42nd Troop Carrier Command, based in Anchorage, Alaska. Contains a summary of his service and responsibilities as an officer in the Army Air Force Ferrying Division, and a short history of the 21st Ferrying Group. Bulk of memoir details his career as commanding officer of the 1328th "Misamari" air base in India. Includes maps, production records, and military memos regarding supply operations in the India-China-Burma theater ("The Hump"). Also includes an article, written by John G. Martin, describing life on these bases and the perils inherent in continuously flying missions over the Himalayan mountains in C-46 and C-47 transports. Contains internal documents and newspaper articles citing the production and flight records set by Pratt's units. Also contains letters from Pratt to his family in America. Of note are photocopies of silk flags sown on the inside and outside of every "hump" flyer's jacket, with an allied flag and a document, written in nearly twenty languages, stating the flyer's allegiance and requesting help in defeating the Japanese. Also included are Pratt's citations, commendations, discharge papers, and photographs of his medals (including the Legion of Merit and the Special Order of Yun Hui). Photographs show Pratt in full military dress, receiving promotions and decorations, with his family, and with commanding officers and fellow soldiers. Also includes photographs of Pratt's airplanes, scenery in Alaska, California, India, and the Himalayas, and the first P-61 "Black Widow" fighter produced.
