This photostat copy of the logbook of the ship Astrea details a shipping voyage from Salem, Mass., to Lisbon, Madeira, and Manila, Mar. 1796-May 1797. The ship's owner was Elias Hasket Derby; the master was Henry Prince; the logbook keeper was Nathaniel Bowditch. The ship's home port was Salem.
