Clough writing at the direction of "Mr. Lowe, the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education, to request you to allow Ellen Seccombe formerly of the Orphan Asylum, Clapton, and now said to be in your service, to attend at this office ... Her evidence is required with regard to some occurrences alleged to have taken place at the Asylum which affect the character of the Revd. J.D. Glennie one of the Inspectors under this Department."
