Michael Mott, a poet and the author of novels for children and adults, was born and educated in England. He first began publishing poetry in 1948. He has held both editing and teaching positions in his career as a writer, serving as the poetry editor of the Kenyon Review from 1966-1970. Mott served as a writer-in-residence at the College of William and Mary during the 1978 and 1985 terms.
