General description of the collection: The Henry K. Fluck photograph collection nicely reflects virtually all aspects of the distinguished career of Lieutenant General Fluck. Clearly, the majority of the photos cover the 28th Division command period and show conference, presentations, promotions, inspections, reviews, banquets, visits, VIPs, etc. There are numerous portraits of General Fluck at nearly all levels of his service. There are several photos of 28th Infantry Division subjects in Europe during World War II. In August 1955, severe flooding hit eastern Pennsylvania and there is an excellent album showing the flood relief activities of the 103rd Engineers, 28th Division.

Henry K. Fluck was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He served in the 110th Infantry when the 28th Division was activated in 1941. He then went on to command the 1st Battalion of the 289th Infantry, 75th Division in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) in 1944 and 1945. He was the commanding general of the 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania National Guard (October 1953 to April 1967). From there, he went on to command the 79th Army Reserve Command until 1971.
