Pickering (Ship) logbook, 1780.

The logbook of the ship Pickering details a privateering voyage from Bilbao, Spain, across the Atlantic Ocean to Salem, Mass., Aug.-Sept. 1780. The ship's master was Jonathan Haraden; the logbook keeper was Nathaniel Cutting. The logbook includes mention of naval convoys; equipment and supplies, specifically provisions, aboard the ship; and shipboard occupations. The Pickering spoke the ship Jay (out of Philadelphia) during its voyage.
