Business records of the Republic Mining and Manufacturing Company 1933,1940-1946.

The collection contains the business records of several bauxite mines in and around Spottswood, Augusta County, Va., operated by Republic Mining and Manufacturing Company of New York, N.Y. The papers include payroll books and ledger sheets, correspondence with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad regarding the construction of a loading chute, a memorandum on some Alabama property, laboratory reports on ore quality, reports on explosives used, bills of lading from the Baltimore and Ohio and the Norfolk and Western, a log of holes bored on the Charles T. Lightner farm, reports of outbound freight, and workmen's time books kept for the Allen and Lightner mines. The papers also contain mining maps and reports for the Allen, Harris and Lightner Mines at Spottswood.
