Contains photographs of the following military units: 4th U.S. Infantry Regiment; 17th U.S. Infantry Regiment; 2nd U.S. Infantry Division. General description of the collection: The Charles F. Humphrey, Jr., photograph collection contains photos which vaguely follow his career from 1898-1940 when he retired as a brigadier general. Most of the photos of Humphrey's career pick up following World War I at Fort Hamilton, New York; Fort McDowell, California; Fort Warren, Wyoming; and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He served with units of the 2nd Infantry Division and apparently had some fraternal association with that division because the final group of photos deals with a visit as a very old man to the 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Georgia in 1965. There is also a photo album of his father's service with the China Relief Expedition in 1900 which has many views of China and some of foreign troops.
