Sarah Millin letter to Ronald Storrs, 1933 Feb. 13.

Millin writes to Sir Ronald, 13 Feb. 1933, thanking him for his letters, and seeking to clarify a previously stated position, to the effect that she wondered why the English fascination with Arabs was not extended to Jews. She also discloses that she will be unable to meet Dr. Weizmann in Venice as he had requested.

Sarah Gertrude Millin was perhaps the preeminent South African writer of her generation. Her novels occasionally reached a wider audience in the United States or London; the overt racism that pervades most of her work has marginalized her place in South African literary history.
