Porus (Ship) logbook, 1776-1788; bulk: 1781.

The logbook of the ship Porus is an incomplete privateering journal kept by clerk Richard D. Jewett on a voyage from Salem, Mass., through the Atlantic Ocean, June-Sept. 1781. The shipmaster was John Carnes. The journal includes equipment and supplies aboard the ship, specifically provisions; undated cargo inventories of the brig Swift; a crew list; and a personal account book of Jewett's containing accounts from 1776 to 1788.
