Cleveland Cliffs Iron Mining Company records 1907 - 1918

This collection contains two volumes of business records for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Mining Company from 1907 to 1918. The first volume documents the design and development of Gwinn, Michigan. Gwinn was a model company town created by the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Mining Company in 1907. The volume contains estimates and authorization records for various mine locations, correspondence, and financial material related to the establishment of Gwinn. Also included are correspondence from Cleveland Cliffs Iron Mining Company president William G. Mather and urban architect Warren Manning. The second volume contains payroll records for the Gwinn Mine from 1918.
