Society of American Archivists records, 1935-

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) is the oldest and largest national professional association of archivists in North America. The collection contains materials from the organization of the SAA in 1936 to present day. The main record groups document the activities of the SAA officers; councilors; executive directors; the editorial offices of the American Archivist; and SAA committees, roundtables, sections, and task forces. Although the bulk of the collection consists of paper records, the history of the SAA is also documented in a wide variety of other record formats, including photographs, microforms, cassette tapes, and publications.
