Contains the following types of materials: photographs, photo albums. Covers the following time periods: 1900-1920; 1944-1959. Contains photographs of the following military units and organizations: U.S. Army Ordnance Department (Dept.). General description of the collection: The Oren W. Bryant photograph collection consists of several photo albums, each dealing with a different assignment and time period of Bryant's career. Also included is a folder of photos of large coast artillery guns and coast artillery personnel of the period 1900-1920. Contents of the three photos albums are: Force Polar Bear, Canada, 1944-1945; photos dealing with a visit of General Matthew Ridgway and Mr. Archibald Alexander to the Tokyo Engineering Works Ordnance Shops in 1951; and a photo survey of the operations of the Army Ordnance Plant, Schwaebisch, Gmuend, Germany, in 1958-1959.

Archibald Stevens Alexander (1906-1979) was born in New York City. He received a bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 1928 and a law degree from Harvard in 1931. General Matthew Bunker Ridgway (March 3, 1895 – July 26, 1993) was a senior officer in the United States Army, who served as Supreme Allied Commander Europe (1952–1953) and the 19th Chief of Staff of the United States Army (1953–1955). Oren W. Bryant was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He served with the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps.
