Contains a letter discussing the wartime hardships forced on Shamo's family, having 4 sons simultaneously serving in the military. Also contains a paper outlining the locations of his training camps, the details of his ship, the USS Pickens, his theaters of action, including Okinawa and the South China Sea, and his awards. Includes a photocopied letter, addressed to Shamo, from the Navy following his discharge. Photographs show Shamo and his four brothers, all of whom served in the armed forces, and his attack transport.
