Discusses his pre-war military service, difficult pilot training, and his stateside assignments. Mentions the Chinese people, their living conditions, and the city of Lulliang near his base. Discusses army living conditions, forms of entertainment, the dangers of flying, pranks played by American pilots, and flying over the Himalayan Mountains. Mentions close calls in which he attributes his survival to God, including flying in terrible storms, and an near accident on Iwo Jima after the war. Also includes a letter written to Saints At War by his wife, Jeri Williams, discussing his accomplishments in post-war life.
